Friday 14th April
6pm – 8pm THE GRUMPY MULE BLUES BAND – The fabulous Grumpy Mule Blues Band play kickass electric and harp blues from the Delta to the British blues explosion of the 60s. We da bomb.
9pm – 11pm OFF THE SHELF – Known for their great sound and on stage dynamic, Off The Shelf have become a firm favourite with local venues performing everything from Bryan Adams to Stereophonics with a little Bruce Springsteen and Cheap Trick thrown in the mix (Check out their Proclaimers/T-rex mash-up!!!)
Saturday 15th April
2pm – 4pm TWO FACED TOM & THE BOOTLEG BOYS – Good time foot-stomping glass-raising old time classics and originals with a modern twist’ Two Faced Tom and The Bootleg Boys have been sweeping up fans and revellers in their droves with their unique brand of energetic country blue grass and rock and roll. Consisting of a formidable line up including banjo, fiddle and three part harmonies the group take crowds by storm at festivals across the country. Expect Johnny Cash like you’ve never heard before.
5pm – 7pm BIG BLUE HOUSE – Always a good show from these stalwarts of the festival. “The House” are a three piece Rhythm & Blues outfit that has been plying its trade around the Blues circuit in various guises for the last 12 years or so. Featuring; James Harrison guitar/vocals, Al Dean bass/vocals and Keith York on the kit.
7:30pm – 9pm 51 STONE – Well established Classic Rock covers band that tour the country presenting accomplished and superbly crafted covers. Classics from Rush, Deep Purple, Queen, AC/DC, Free, Prince, Van Halen & many more.
9:30pm – 11:30pm THE LAST REBEL – Back at The Shakey by request. Hard hitting grade “A” classic Rock & Blues from the Welsh. These guys played last year but in different bands. When we thought it couldn’t get any better they morphed into The Last Rebel. Impressing audiences wherever they play with tight delivery, mega vocals, superb musicianship interspersed with witty banter these guys are not to be missed.
Sunday 16th April
1pm – 3pm MUMBO JUMBO – Rootsy, bluesy, goodtime, originalness from these festival favourites. Mumbo-Jumbo Oliver Carpenter, Chris Lomas, and Phil Bond, three of the Midlands most experienced musicians, throwing them together in a broadly acoustic format and letting them deliver what they are best at – live music performance.
Sunday 4pm – 6pm FRONT PAGE NEWS – A six piece band playing their special blend of Blues, Rock and Soul from John Mayall, Climax Blues Band, Walter Trout though to Joe Cocker, Bob Seger, Gerry Rafferty with a sprinkling of Stones mixed in, all played with passion and a whole lot of soul!
8pm – 10pm JIM JAMS – Always popular at the festival, Jim Jams has acquired an excellent reputation as a professional outfit that never disappoints. Established in 2007 the London based band has extensive performance experience having played throughout the UK in venues ranging from nightclubs and restaurants to hotels and marquees.
Monday 17th April
1pm – 3pm JOEY SHIELDS – A Liverpool legend, Joey is truly renowned as one of the greats of the genre in the North West with style all of his own. An accomplished guitarist, harmonica player and vocalist see him perform solo.
4pm – 6pm THE LOL GOODMAN BAND – Probably the most original band on the road today, by sticking to their guns and playing almost exclusively original blues/rock inspired material, the Lol Goodman Band are building a reputation as THE BAND to see on the blues circuit. With three critically acclaimed albums of all original material to their name, a record deal with RIGHT TRACK RECORDS to distribute “Just Wanna Say” and all future releases through UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP and appearances at top UK blues clubs and major festivals.
6pm – 8pm BLUE SILK – Judy Blu is a Birmingham based singer and songwriter who has performed at numerous festivals and venues across the UK. Judy has an amazing versatility in her voice and so don’t be surprised to hear different influences in her performance. These influences include Jazz, Blues and Soul classics. Judy Blu presents Blue Silk. The Blue Silk duo featuring Judy Blu and Ian Silk will be showcasing original songs with jazz and soul classics with a twist. Ian is a unique fingerstyle player, who is often likened to players such as Tommy Emmanuel, Martin Taylor and Joe Passe. Together with the smoky and versatile vocals of Judy Blu they create an exhilarating and exiting performance to remember.
7pm – 9pm BLOZONE – Formed in 1996 Blozone have been entertaining audiences with their mixed flavour of Soul, Motown and popular songs across the UK. Long established, the iconic “Blozone’s Easter Monday at The Shakey” is a not to be missed annual event. Yes, see this amazing, full-on soul band do their thing with STAX and Motown classics and much more with a performance that will have you dancing the whole time.
