Ryan Sparrow is an English singer/songwriter from the Midlands. Playing his original mix of pop and folk Ryan has travelled the length and breadth of the UK playing shows. Performing live at venues such as the Bedford (London) and the o2 Institute Birmingham, his extensive experience playing gigs brings another level to his live performances including percussive tapping on his acoustic guitar and a “smooth, sweet voice blessed to please the souls of anybody near.”
Life in music started for Ryan at the age of 14 spending countless hours learning the acoustic guitar and writing his first original music in his bedroom. After playing one open mic in his hometown of Stourbridge, Ryan has continued to grow and evolve from venue to venue and so has his fanbase. Playing shows such as Stroud Fringe Festival and supporting Tom Walker (best known for his song ‘Leave a Light On’) on his UK Tour in 2017, Ryan has received messages and praise from fans across the globe from Canada to New Zealand and everything in between.
Ryan’s music has been described as “Influenced by the mellow sounds of Ben Howard as his soft and smooth voice accompanies the melancholic themed songs”, “impressive and intriguing” by Gig Junkies and highly praised by BBC
Introducing in Cornwall after being played on their Introducing show. The lyrics are strongly influenced by Ryan’s life experiences and his outlook on real world events such as war and poverty in today’s broken society.
Songs such as ‘Bird in the Rain’ and ‘Stars’ comment on world events like Syria’s downfall. His lyrics bring you closer to Ryan’s outlook on life and intimately closer to his world, creating an ever-growing bond between himself and the audience who come into contact with him.
Ryan is always in the studio working on new music and putting his thoughts onto paper with upcoming releases always in the works. After signing with Woodcut Records, Ryan is geared up and ready to venture deeper into his musical journey and take as many people as he can with him.
