The Jive Aces

The Jive Aces + Vavoom – Nantwich Civic Hall – Sunday 1st April – Tickets £15 incl Bkg Fee

Having earned a reputation of being the best entertainers around for over 20 years, the Jive Aces have truly established themselves as the UK’s top jive and swing band. They are considered one of the hardest working bands in the business with over 300 shows a year and touring all year long from one corner to another of the globe.

They have also just released two brand new albums celebrating the origins of their sound, “Diggin’ The Roots Vol.1: Rockin’ Rhythm & Blues” and “Vol.2: Hot Jazz” which are available on the Golden Age Recordings label on CD, download and also soon available a special limited collectors edition double vinyl.

Their music is played regularly on BBC Radio 2, they have appeared on the BBC’s People’s Strictly, had a six page feature in the nationally distributed “Vintage Rock” magazine and have an upcoming appearance again this year at Glastonbury.

Renowned for their high-energy jump and spectacular stage show in their hallmark yellow suits, the band’s repertoire stretches from the timeless tunes of the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack, with a dash of rhythm & blues, swinging jazz and the roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll. They feature songs made famous by such greats as Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald along with a wide selection of superb originals taken from their albums.

Originally forming in London, the six talented musicians have known each other since leaving school. They created the band with a shared passion for the music and have championed and helped popularise the vintage and retro music scene while moving it forward with their own original compositions.

Having gained steady success year on year they became the first live band to reach the semi-finals of “Britain’s Got Talent” famously putting grumpy Simon Cowell “in a good mood” followed by a performance for Her Majesty The Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The band is in constant demand and has performed at hundreds of festivals including Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival and The Hop Farm Festival to name a few. They also headlined and sold out the first ever swing dance at the Royal Albert Hall and have performed for many prestigious associations such as the Grand Order of the Water Rats and the Society Of Distinguished Songs Writers (S.O.D.S.).

During their career they have opened for and worked with some of the best artists around such as Van Morrison, Chick Corea, Kenny Ball, Toto, The Proclaimers, Keely Smith and celebrities such as John Travolta, Priscilla Presley and Juliette Lewis among many others.

They regularly appear in the media having featured in various national papers and magazines such as Hello!, OK!, The Daily Express, The Evening Standard, Vintage Rock Magazine, and many others. They also had many TV & radio appearances such as Alan Titchmarsh, Come Dine With Me, Good Day L.A. and The People’s Strictly. They were also the resident band for Jo Good’s show on BBC radio London for a year.

They have received many awards for their contribution to music and extensive charity work including The Derry International Music Award and The Variety Club Award for supporting the “Say No To Drugs Say Yes To Life” campaign for over a decade.

Their multi award winning music video “Bring Me Sunshine” has gone viral with over 3 million views on YouTube including the prestigious Telly Award. A U.S. doctor has even been prescribing the video to lift patients’ spirits.

Including the two new releases, the band has produced 10 studio albums.
