Saturday 15th April
2pm – 4pm MALPRACTICE – RnB on steroids…..”a little Malpractice never hurt anyone” Malpractice are a bunch of naughty boys who should know better who describe their influences as 70’S R&B, Pub Rock, The Blues, The Chris Bevington Blues Band. Their mission…To bring Feelgood to the people from Harecastle Delta to the Bathpool Jetty. And Nantwich !
4pm – 6pm BIG WOLF BAND – Big Wolf is a powerful and dynamic guitarist and singer/songwriter and is fast becoming one of the must see artist on the scene. Spontaneous improvised breaks, dynamic highs and lows, bringing a song down to a whisper before exploding with energy and power. His music creates an old school feel, something which the industry has lost along the way. Original songs from blues through to rock all with that unique Big Wolf feel, backed by an outstanding band Big Wolf delivers every time! If you want a band that can capture the imagination, then look no further!
6pm – 8pm THE HEXMAN – High energy old School Brit Blues with an aggressive indie edge. Notwithstanding George’s historic links with the 80s and 90s Liverpool music scene, the current band members have an awesome pedigree. George himself, vocals (and an much sought after session blues harp player, has recorded with with some of the most significant indie bands of the past 20 years). On guitar is Ian Fuller, Influences include Ritchie Blackmore, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa. Blistering drummer, Mat Shaw & Mike Cain on Bass.
8pm – 10pm RETROVIBE – A three piece band made up of accomplished local musicians and songwriters who give their unique slant and respectful renditions of the music that defined an era. Punk, New Wave and Indie from The 70’s ,to the naughties. Cool and dynamic music from one of Stoke’s hottest cover bands who play a selection of hit tracks from David Bowie to The Smiths & Talking Heads to The Clash.
10pm – 11:30pm THE JOHN COLINS BAND – Closing the Saturday show, a band that plays the music you love, and we love because we keep asking them back. Playing that stuff that other bands don’t play, The John Colins Band, or JCB as they have become known throughout the Cheshire and North West music circuit are a good time, band playing classic dance tunes. From the Rolling Stones to Pink, Radiohead to R.E.M. JCB cover a vast genre of songs with a common feature – you will rarely hear a local gigging band playing them, well not like that anyway.
Sunday 16th April
1pm – 3pm BIG BLUE HOUSE – Always a good show from these stalwarts of the festival. “The House” are a three piece Rhythm & Blues outfit that has been plying its trade around the Blues circuit in various guises for the last 12 years or so. Featuring; James Harrison guitar/vocals, Al Dean bass/vocals and Keith York on the kit.
3pm – 5pm THE EMMA JONSON QUARTET – The brilliant boogie-woogie pianist Emma Jonson brings her quartet to Nantwich for the first time! Expect some pacey up tempo boogie woogie, blues covers and some brand new original material from this esteemed band of musicians, this is a festival session not-to-be-missed!
5pm – 7pm MONKEY FINGER – Want to see a band that plays cracking music, with so much feel it could make you weep? Love to see quality musicians clearly enjoying what they do? Then come on down – The Finger are the band for you!
7pm – 9pm GODFATHERS OF SOUL – Under the musical direction of Lisa J Paulson and with lead singer and frontman John Robinson Godfathers of Soul play classic Soul, Motown and Northern Soul. With a line-up of seasoned musicians. Expect to turn up and dance.
9pm – 11pm THE KMK – Stellar 3 piece covers outfit otherwise known as Kaiser Monkey Killers. Well known and respected on the local circuit and much further afield. The band line-up comprises Dan and Mark Eyden on guitar with Ant Wheeler on drums who produce absolutely fantastic indie covers from Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers and The Arctic Monkeys. A show not to be missed and a damn fine way to round off a festival Sunday.
Monday 17th April
2pm – 4pm FRONT PAGE NEWS – A six piece band playing their special blend of Blues, Rock and Soul from John Mayall, Climax Blues Band, Walter Trout though to Joe Cocker, Bob Seger, Gerry Rafferty with a sprinkling of Stones mixed in, all played with passion and a whole lot of soul!
